We are pleased to announce a start of public testing of the first version of ROSA server operating system based on ROSA Enterprise Linux Server "Helium" (RELS Helium) platform. Among key components of the distribution available for x86 (i586) and x86_64 hardware platforms, we can mark out ROSA Directory Server, ROSA Server Setup and OpenStack 2012.1 Essex.
By this URL: http://mirror.rosalab.ru/iso/ROSA.Server/ROSA.Server.Beta/ one can download a first test edition of the ROSA Enterprise Linux Server "Helium" 2012 operating system. The distribution includes:
ROSA Directory Server. This component is intended for administration of user accounts and controlling access to resources of a local network. ROSA Directory Server is based on improved Mandriva Directory Server with additional means of providing strong authentication (Kerberos) and support for administration of several subnetworks. Main functionality:

ROSA Server Setup. A tool for installing and configuring main server components using Web-interface. It allows to quickly setup the following applications:

OpenStack 2012.1 Essex. A set of tools and services for building private and public cloud infrastructures (IaaS). It also includes a service for organizing distributed data storage and comfortable Web interface.
As a default desktop environment a lightweight LXDE is used, but GNOME 2.28 and KDE 4.3.5 are also available.
Versions of major components included in the distribution:
ROSA Enterprise Linux Server "Helium" is a new item in the company's product line. The solution is compatible with widespread open and commercial enterprise software, including binary-level compatibility, as well. RELS is based on server solutions of Red Hat and Mandriva, with additionally integrated tools for building private clouds and centralized management of network resources.
